The recall was initiated because tips of sewing needles have been found in the stuffing of these toys, which poses a puncture hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The toys were manufactured in China and sold at Pokémon Center NY in New York City and on the company's website nationwide from January 2004 through August 2004. Prices ranged from $4.99 to $34.95, and a limited number were given away as promotional items.
