Hunter's View, of Peoria, Ill., is recalling about 500,000 safety harnesses sold with tree stands. These 2004 model year Fall Arrest Systems have model number 3333 and Model Year 2004 written on a white label attached to the harness or the tree strap. The harnesses were included with various Hunters View and Comfort Zone brand tree stands.
The recall is being issued because the harnesses could fail during use, resulting in consumers falling from tree stands and suffering serious injuries or death. No injuries have been reported to date.
The affected products were sold at hunting and sporting goods stores nationwide beginning in January 2004 for between $100 and $300.
