The recall involves "hang-on" stands manufactured from January 1998 through July 2001 and sold at hunting stores and catalogs nationwide for between $60 and $120. The affected stands are identified by a yellow warning label reading "Rivers Edge Hunting Products," dual post seat uprights, and a gold-colored strap hook bracket.
The recall is due to a hazard where the strap mounting bracket may loosen or rotate, allowing the strap hook to release and the tree stand to detach from the tree. This could cause the consumer to fall to the ground. The company has received three reports of consumers falling when their stands detached, with two of these consumers reportedly suffering serious injuries, including broken bones.
