The hazard is that the glass cover and components on the grill's thermometer can break, posing a risk of injury to the user or those nearby.

The company has received five reports of thermometers breaking, resulting in two injuries. Summit grills were sold from August 2002 through August 2003 for between $900 and $1,700, while Vieluxe grills were sold from January 2001 through July 2003 for between $4,000 and $6,000. These products were sold at hardware, home improvement, and appliance stores, as well as specialty dealers nationwide.

Consumers should stop using the grills immediately and contact Weber-Stephen to receive a free replacement thermometer. The replacement must be installed according to the instructions before the grill is used again.
