The Coleman Company Inc. is recalling approximately 136,000 Mosquito Deleto™ Traps, sold as part of the Portable System and the Back Home™ System. The traps, which attach to 1 lb. or 20 lb. propane cylinders, were sold at home centers, mass merchandisers, and hardware stores from March 2002 to July 2002 for between $170 and $200. The recalled units have model numbers 2950-800 or 2950-801 located on a label on the front of the trap above the warning text "WARNING: For outdoor use only".

The recall was issued because the mosquito trap's propane regulator can leak propane or allow an overflow of propane gas, posing a fire hazard. Additionally, the fuel hose attachment sold with the Back Home™ System can become damaged and leak propane, which also poses a fire hazard. Coleman has received 28 reports of traps melting or catching fire due to propane leaks and 7 reports of damage to the propane fuel hoses. No injuries have been reported.
