SoloRider Industries Inc. is recalling approximately 200 SoloRider AteeA Model 32 single-rider electric golf carts. The recall was issued because the golf cart's software can be corrupted by static electricity, which may allow the vehicle to move forward without assistance. The recalled carts were sold nationwide at SoloRider and other golf dealers from October 1999 through March 2000 for between $5,000.00 and $9,000.00. The AteeA model 32 is a four-wheeled cart available in hunter green or Daytona white, featuring dual-hand controls, a front-mounted golf bag rack, and a seat basket. Serial numbers beginning with 32 are located on a label on the frame near the left front tire.
SoloRider has received one report of a showroom golf cart continuing to operate after being turned off, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the recalled golf carts immediately and contact the SoloRider dealer where purchased for a free repair. SoloRider has also notified consumers directly about this recall.
