AMSAFE Commercial Products Inc. is recalling approximately 1,150 blue Murray Outrage go-karts. The recall involves model numbers GT60102x92A or GT60304A with manufacturing date codes from 00082 to 00147. These go-karts feature neon-green pads on the brush bars and have "MURRAY" written on the headrest. The model number and date code are located on a decal behind the seat. Go-karts with a dot after the model number are not part of the recall.
The seat belts on these go-karts can unintentionally unlatch, which poses a risk of serious injury to riders. AMSAFE has not received any reports of injuries relating to this problem. The recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.
The go-karts were sold at Wal-Mart and Army Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) stores nationwide from March 2000 through October 2000 for about $850. Consumers should stop riding these go-karts immediately and call Murray at (800) 251-8007 between 7 a.m. and midnight ET any day for instructions on how to get the go-kart repaired free of charge.
