What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (suffocation hazard) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

Fazoli's Management Inc. is recalling approximately 310,000 Pasta Pals toys that were included with Fazoli's Kids Meals from January 2000 through August 2000. The toys consist of a plastic, barrel-shaped container holding small plastic tomato and ravioli figures. The blue container measures about 2.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep.

The recall was issued because the bottom of the container can fit over a child's nose and mouth, posing a suffocation hazard to children under 3 years of age. Fazoli's has received one report of a child putting the container over his mouth, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately take the barrel-shaped container away from young children. They should discard the container or return it to any Fazoli's restaurant for a free Italian Lemon Ice. For more information, consumers can call Fazoli's toll-free at (877) 401-7408 or visit the company's website.
