The recall is due to two distinct hazards. In the jumper seats, the spring that suspends the seat from the doorway can break, causing babies to fall to the ground and suffer serious injuries. Fisher-Price has received 80 reports of springs breaking, resulting in 20 injured babies with injuries including lacerations, a dislocated tailbone, and bruises. In the construction toys, the crane's bucket is attached by a 25-inch strap that children can wrap around their necks, posing a strangulation hazard. Fisher-Price has received 16 reports of children wrapping the strap around their necks, with seven children suffering minor injuries.

Consumers should stop using the jumper seats immediately. Fisher-Price will provide a free repair kit with a new suspension strap to support the seat if the spring breaks. For the construction toys, consumers should cut the 25-inch strap off and throw it away. Fisher-Price will provide a free replacement crane boom and bucket with a shorter 12-inch strap to prevent neck wrapping.
