The Promotional Resources Group of Companies Inc. is recalling Bug Zapper toys that were distributed with children's meals at fast food, drive-in, and small franchise restaurants from November 1998 through April 2000. The toys, which come in frog and lizard styles, feature a balloon tongue that rolls out when squeezed. The company has received one report of the balloon tongue detaching, where a 3-year-old boy inhaled the part into his sinus cavity and required medical treatment to remove it.
The hazard is that the balloon tongue can detach, posing a choking and aspiration risk to young children. Approximately 105,000 units were distributed. The toys are mainly orange, green, and purple, and have "CHINA" molded into them.
Consumers should immediately take these toys from young children.
