Each campaign is identified by an NHTSA Campaign Number (a string like 25V123000) and lists every make / model / year combination affected. The most common vehicle-recall categories are airbag and seatbelt failures (the consequence is non-deployment in a crash), fuel system defects with fire risk, steering or brake malfunctions, electrical defects in EVs that can cause battery thermal events, software bugs in driver-assist systems, and child-seat harness failures. Recalls for tires almost always relate to a tread-separation risk in a defined production date range.
Every NHTSA recall is mandatory for the manufacturer to remedy at no charge to the owner, with no expiration. If your vehicle has an open recall, your dealer is required to perform the remedy free of charge as long as the vehicle exists. Ford is recalling 2021-2022 Transit and 2021 Transit Connect vehicles because the front passenger seat belt locking retractor may deactivate, preventing child restraint securement. Unsecured child restraints increase crash injury risk.
General Motors is recalling certain 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon vehicles because dealer technicians may have incorrectly calibrated the brake system control module, potentially compromising braking performance and stability control.
General Motors is recalling 2020-2021 Silverado 2500 and Sierra 2500 trucks where a 17-inch spare tire paired with larger road tires prevents ABS from engaging, raising crash risk. Dealers will replace the spare tire and label at no cost.
Shyft Group is recalling certain 2018-2022 Spartan RV Chassis models (K1, K2, K3, K4) because the instrument cluster may intermittently go blank while the vehicle is in motion, potentially obscuring critical speed and warning information.

Nissan is recalling 2021 Rogue Sport vehicles because seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate prematurely, reducing protection for child safety seats and violating federal crash protection standards.
BMW is recalling certain 2021 X2 vehicles because the passenger seat belt retractor may deactivate early, failing to comply with federal safety standards. The defective retractor could increase injury risk in a crash.
Newmar Corporation is recalling certain 2021 Ventana motorhomes because tie rod clamps may be loose, potentially causing tie rod ends to break or detach and resulting in steering loss.
