What this means for you

Our assessment, not the agency’s: severity 3/5 (High).

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Plain-English summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for frozen, not ready-to-eat meat and poultry products produced by Betterballen Foods LLC. The alert was issued because the products contain sesame, a known allergen, that is not declared on the labels. Additionally, the beef product contains Worcestershire sauce with anchovy (fish), another known allergen, which is also not declared on the labels. A formal recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

The affected products were produced on October 15, October 16, and October 27, 2026. They include clear vacuum-packed packages of 6-piece “Bami Rolls” (lot codes BR-2026-01 and BR-2026-02), 10-piece “Saté Kroketten” (lot code SK-1026-01), and 12-piece “Bitterballen” (lot code BB-1026-01). These items bear establishment numbers EST. M3177 or EST. P3177 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were sold by Lowlands House for internet sales nationwide and may have also been sold at a festival and farmers market in Greer, South Carolina.

The issue was discovered during a routine FSIS label review. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. FSIS is concerned that some product may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
