The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for 9 oz. plastic clamshell containers of “TRADER JOE’S CAESAR SALAD WITH WHITE CHICKEN MEAT and Creamy Caesar Dressing.” The alert was issued because the salad dressing packets included in the product contain egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the finished product label. The products were produced on July 5, 2022, and bear best by dates of 07/11/22 and 07/12/22 with lot code GHNW 186-06. They were shipped to Trader Joe’s locations in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
The issue was discovered when the producing establishment, F&S Produce West LLC, was informed by a store that the dressing packets appeared incorrect. The packets contained Sweet and Spicy Vinaigrette instead of the labeled Creamy Caesar Dressing. These unlabeled packets contain egg. FSIS has verified that the affected products are no longer available for sale, but some may remain in consumers' refrigerators.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
