The affected items are 15-oz. plastic cups of “Fresh FOODS MARKET CLASSIC CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP” with a best by date of 6/9/2020 and lot code 425798031120. These products were produced on March 11, 2020, by RCK Foods in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and shipped to Kroger retail locations nationwide. The error was discovered by a retail store associate who found an incorrect back label for potato soup on the chicken noodle soup container.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. FSIS notes that a formal recall was not requested because the affected products are believed to no longer be available for purchase. However, consumers who may have these products in their refrigerators or freezers should be aware that they contain egg. Consumers should throw the products away or return them to the place of purchase.
