The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall on August 9, 2021, following a public health alert issued on June 2, 2021. FSIS is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to investigate a multistate outbreak of 28 Salmonella Enteritidis illnesses in 8 states. Unopened intact packages of the recalled raw, frozen, breaded chicken stuffed with broccoli and cheese were collected from an ill person’s home and tested positive for the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. The products are raw and must be fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165 F using a food thermometer, following the manufacturer's oven instructions; they should not be prepared in a microwave or air fryer.
