The recall is issued because the Federal Certification Label on these vehicles may display an incorrect Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with the certification requirements of 49 CFR Part 567.
An incorrect VIN on the label can make it difficult for owners to recognize that their vehicle is involved in a safety recall. This lack of visibility increases the risk of crash or injury if a future safety issue is not identified by the owner.
