Altec Recalls AC Series Cranes Due to Missing Welds on Jib

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2024-2026 AC Series Crane vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where the inside joints between the side plates and the base plates of the 26-foot insulating personnel jib (IJ26) may be missing welds.
Missing welds can lead to platform joint failure due to fatigue or overload. This failure may result in the platform falling from the boom tip, which increases the risk of injury to personnel.
Altec will advise owners to inspect the IJ26 jib for missing welds. If welds are missing, the jib should be taken out of service immediately. Altec will add the missing welds or provide a repair procedure and kit free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 23, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB-3330.
