Lode-King Industries, Ltd. is recalling certain 2019-2026 SDG53-3, SDF53-3, and SDF50-3 trailers. The recall involves 114 units where the rear impact guard may be missing welds, which reduces the guard's structural strength. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 223, "Rear Impact Guards."
A rear impact guard with inadequate strength may not sufficiently protect a following vehicle, increasing the risk of injury during a rear-end crash.
Lode-King will inspect the trailers and add welds as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 14, 2026. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning May 22, 2026.
