2023-2025 Volkswagen Atlas and ID.4 vehicles recalled for loose suspension and brake bolts

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain 2023-2025 Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and 2023-2024 ID.4 vehicles. The defect involves bolts on the chassis, brake system, and suspension that may not have been correctly tightened during manufacturing. The affected bolts include those for the cross member, engine mount, control arm, subframe, rear brake carrier, and other suspension and brake components.

If these bolts are not properly tightened, they may loosen further over time, potentially compromising the integrity of the brake system and suspension.

Loose bolts on critical brake and suspension components could result in loss of vehicle control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Approximately 546 vehicles are estimated to be affected.

Dealers will replace the affected bolts at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 25, 2025. Owners who have questions may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or reference Volkswagen's recall number 42HX when contacting their dealer.
