The affected vehicles include 2022-2026 Honda Civic models (sedan and hatchback), 2023-2025 Honda CR-V models (standard and hybrid), 2023-2025 Honda HR-V models, 2023-2025 Acura Integra models, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S models, and 2025 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell EV and Civic Hybrid models. This defect affects steering assemblies that may have been manufactured incorrectly, resulting in excessive internal friction within the gearbox.
When the steering gearbox functions improperly, it can cause difficulty when steering the vehicle. Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash. No injuries or deaths have been reported in connection with this defect.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 18, 2024.
