Blue Bird Body Company is recalling one 2022 All American transit bus equipped with 39-inch High Back seat restraining barriers. The recall addresses a defect where the bolts securing these barriers to the floor may separate when fully loaded. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 222, which governs bus passenger seating and crash protection.
An unsecured seat restraining barrier may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The corrective action involves a dealer installing a longer bolt with a rectangular washer and nut at no charge to the owner.
