Freightliner and FCCC trucks recalled for windshield wiper linkage failure

Plain-English summary
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Freightliner Business-Class M2, FCCC Business-Class M2, FCCC S2G, FCCC S2RV, FCCC SC2, as well as 2021-2022 Freightliner 108SD and 114SD vehicles. The windshield wiper linkages in these vehicles may break, causing the windshield wipers to fail.
When windshield wipers fail, visibility can be severely reduced in certain driving conditions. This reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash.
A total of 57,504 vehicles are potentially affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 2, 2023. Owners should contact their DTNA dealer or DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield wiper arm and linkage parts as necessary, free of charge. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
