Dana Incorporated is recalling Spicer Ultimate Dana 60 Bracketless Crate Axles for Jeep Wranglers because a suspension bracket may prevent sufficient lubrication from reaching the pinion tail bearings.

Dana Incorporated is recalling certain Spicer Ultimate Dana 60 Bracketless Crate Axles sold for Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where the axle suspension bracket may prevent sufficient lubrication from reaching the pinion tail bearings.
Insufficient lubrication may cause the pinion tail bearing to seize, which prevents the axle from rotating and increases the risk of a crash. Dana will replace the affected axles free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 30, 2023.
