What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The source describes a structural defect creating a risk of fall injury, but does not report any actual injuries or fatalities. Per the rubric, theoretical hazards without reported illness or injury are scored at most 3 (High).
Plain-English summary
Airstream, Inc. is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 Airstream travel trailer models, including the Flying Cloud, Classic, Pottery Barn, International, and Globetrotter. The manual step on these trailers contains a fastener screw that may pull through the washer, causing the step structure to collapse during use.
A collapsing step creates a fall hazard and increases the risk of injury to users. To remedy the issue, authorized Airstream dealers will replace the washer and install a Loctite thread locker to prevent the fastener from pulling through. This repair is provided free of charge.
