2022 Grand Design travel trailers recalled due to cracked LP gas fittings
Grand Design RV is recalling certain 2022 Solitude, Momentum, Reflection, Imagine, and Transcend travel trailer models with cracked LP gas disconnect fittings that may cause gas leaks and fire risk.
What this means for you
Our assessment, not the agency’s: severity 3/5 (High).
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall describes a structural defect in an LP gas system with fire hazard potential. However, the source presents the hazard as theoretical ('may be cracked,' 'can increase the risk') without reporting any actual injuries or incidents. Per the severity rubric, risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported score at most 3 (High).
Plain-English summary
Grand Design RV, LLC is recalling certain 2022 Solitude, Momentum, Reflection, Imagine, and Transcend travel trailers. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas systems may be cracked.
Cracked fittings can cause LP gas leaks. A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of fire.
Owners of affected trailers should contact a dealer for free replacement of the quick disconnect fittings. Owner notification letters were mailed May 30, 2022.
