2021 Airstream RVs Recalled for Propane Regulator Failure Fire Risk

Airstream is recalling certain 2021 recreational vehicles with propane regulator defects that can increase pressure and enlarge flames in gas appliances, creating a fire risk. Dealers will replace the regulator and test the system at no cost.

Airstream, Inc. is recalling certain 2021 recreational vehicle models equipped with Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulators. The affected models include the Flying Cloud, Bambi, Caravel, Classic, Globetrotter, and International. Approximately 222 vehicles are affected.

The Winntec model 6020 propane regulator may fail, causing an increase in propane pressure inside the RV's propane system. This increased pressure can enlarge the flames in gas appliances, increasing the risk of a fire inside the vehicle.

Owners should contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 (extension 7401 or 7411) to schedule the repair. Dealers will inspect and replace the regulator as necessary and test the propane system for leaks at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 8, 2021.
