Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DNTA) is recalling certain 2018-2021 model year Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner HDX school buses. The recall involves 1,262 vehicles where the sealing washer in the fuel injection system may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes. This defect allows the high-pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. DNTA has not reported any accidents or injuries related to this defect.
