In the event of a crash, a crack can occur between the headrest and backrest, allowing the headrest to separate. This defect causes the seats to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."

A broken or separated headrest increases the risk of injury during a crash. Diono will provide a replacement backrest with headrest assembly free of charge. Until the replacement is installed, Diono recommends converting the seat into a backless booster seat.
