This detachment can interrupt electrical contact, resulting in sudden battery failure, or cause an electrical arc that ignites inside the battery cells.

If the high-voltage battery fails, the vehicle may stall, which increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, an electrical arc inside the battery increases the risk of a fire. The recall began on May 8, 2020.
