What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (front suspension component separation) that can lead to a loss of steering assist and increase the risk of a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Rosenbauer America is recalling certain 2014-2019 Emergency Response Commander vehicles equipped with Reyco front suspensions. The recall involves 67 vehicles.
The front shocks may separate from their upper mount on the front suspension. A loose shock may contact and damage the steering gear housing, possibly causing a steering fluid leak and a loss of power steering assist. A loss of hydraulic steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
