Spartan Motors USA is recalling certain 2018-2019 Utilimaster Truck Body and Velocity vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with ASA Electronics monitors (model number VOM74MMx) used to display backup camera images. A defect in these monitors may cause them to revert to factory default settings, resulting in the camera image being displayed in reverse.
If the monitor displays the image in reverse, the driver may unintentionally turn in the wrong direction, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall covers 5,855 vehicles.
Spartan will notify owners, and dealers will install a relay harness with a capacitor free of charge. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-5008.
