MORryde Recalls Fifth Wheel Pin Boxes Due to Short Bolts

MORryde is recalling certain You Turn and Orbital Rotating Pin boxes because they may have shorter bolts than required, increasing the risk of a crash.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (incorrect bolt length) that increases the risk of a crash, which aligns with the 'Severe' criteria for structural defects or significant injury/property-damage reports.

Plain-English summary

MORryde International, Inc. is recalling certain You Turn and Orbital Rotating Pin boxes. The defect involves the pin boxes potentially being equipped with bolts that are 1-3/4 inches in length instead of the required 2-inch bolts.

If the rotating pin box has been unlocked and allowed to rotate, the shorter bolt can allow the wedge that locks out the rotation to break free. This allows the rotating pin box to rotate in two places, which increases the risk of a crash.

MORryde will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the bolt and provide replacement bolts if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on September 6, 2019. Owners may contact MORryde customer service at 1-574-293-1581 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
