Daimler Trucks Recalls 2018-2019 Freightliner and Western Star Models for Clutch Defect

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2019 model year Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, 122SD, Cascadia, Business Class M2, and Western Star 4700, 4900, and 5700 vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain Eaton ECA heavy-duty truck clutches. The recall affects 6,795 vehicles.
An internal component in the clutch assembly may fail, which can result in unintended vehicle movement. This defect increases the risk of a crash. DTNA issued an interim notification to owners on February 16, 2019, and the recall began on July 31, 2019.
