Newmar Corporation is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Dutch Star motorhomes manufactured between June 5, 2014, and October 16, 2015, built on a Freightliner chassis. The recall involves 510 vehicles.

The steering box in these vehicles may have been manufactured with an incorrect spacer that has insufficient height. This defect can cause excessive play, leading to wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle. If this connection fails, the driver may experience a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are urged not to drive their vehicles until they have been inspected. Freightliner dealers will inspect the steering box and replace it if necessary, free of charge.
