Plain-English summary
Keystone RV Company is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Keystone Summerland recreational trailers, specifically models 1700FQ, 1750RD, and 1800BH. These units were manufactured between April 8, 2016, and April 20, 2016. The recall involves 402 vehicles.
The defect involves the tires installed on the trailers. Some units may have been manufactured with ST215/75R14 Load Range C tires rated for 1,870 lbs, when they should have been equipped with ST215/75R14 Load Range D tires rated for 2,200 lbs. This discrepancy may allow owners to inadvertently overload the tires, potentially leading to tire failure and an increased risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the tires with ones of the proper load rating free of charge. The recall began on May 25, 2016. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
