The defect involves a bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps, which may fracture. If this occurs, the fan gear can disengage from the steps, preventing them from remaining in the expected position and causing them to become unstable. This condition increases the risk of injury during entry and exit.
Dealers will correct the issue by installing a retainer bracket on the double step assemblies and replacing the Coachstep Linkage Assembly. Additionally, a retainer bracket will be installed on the triple step assemblies. The recall began on February 10, 2016.
