Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. is recalling certain model year 2014 E350 and E350 4Matic sedans manufactured between June 4, 2014, and July 9, 2014. The recall affects 809 vehicles that were built with a fuel feed line featuring a single flare fitting instead of the required double flare fitting.
If the fuel feed line has the incorrect flare fitting, the connection between the fuel hose and the fuel feed line might develop a leak or completely disconnect. Leaking fuel in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, if the fuel feed line disconnects, the vehicle would stall, which increases the risk of a crash.
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners, and dealers will install the correct fuel line free of charge. This recall began on January 11, 2016. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-800-367-6372 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
