Plain-English summary
Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain model year 2016 Ace, Challenger, Hurricane, Miramar, Outlaw, and Windsport vehicles manufactured between July 14, 2015, and October 16, 2015. The recall involves 209 vehicles.
The defect is caused by an incorrect shift cable bracket and improper shift cable adjustment. This issue allows the vehicle to be shifted out of 'PARK' without the driver applying the brakes. If the vehicle is shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, it may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners on behalf of Thor Motor Coach. Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable free of charge. The recall began on November 12, 2015. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
