Eldorado Amerivan 10 Recall for Rear Shock Absorber Separation Risk

Eldorado is recalling 2012-2015 Amerivan 10 vehicles because the rear shock absorber may separate, potentially damaging fuel lines and causing a fire.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (suspension separation) that explicitly increases the risk of a fire due to fuel leaks, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Eldorado National-Kansas is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Amerivan 10 vehicles manufactured between November 2, 2012, and April 8, 2015. The recall addresses a defect where the upper rear shock absorber mounting bracket and the upper end of the shock absorber may separate from the chassis.

If the loose rear shock absorber damages the fuel filler hose, fuel may leak, which increases the risk of a fire. The defect may also cause damage to the heater hose.

Dealers will replace the mounting bracket with a revised bracket that is welded to the vehicle chassis and add a suspension strap. These repairs will be made free of charge. The recall began on June 22, 2015. Owners may contact Eldorado National-Kansas customer service at 1-785-827-1033 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
