What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a fuel system defect that increases the risk of a vehicle fire, which aligns with the rubric criterion for 'significant injury/property-damage reports' or structural vehicle defects involving fire hazards.
Plain-English summary
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT and Dodge Charger SRT vehicles manufactured between September 18, 2014, and February 5, 2015. These vehicles are equipped with a 6.2L supercharged engine. The recall involves 1,875 vehicles.
The defect involves potential damage to the O-ring seal and fuel rail crossover hose, which may result in the fuel rail hose connection leaking fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine fuel rail injector crossover hose free of charge. The recall began on April 23, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
