The defect involves the electronic control module for the driver and front passenger seat heaters. If this module fails, the seat heaters may not be able to be turned off. This can cause the seat to overheat and smolder, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

Aston Martin will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional module to the circuit that can interrupt power to the seat heaters if the original module fails. This repair is free of charge.
