Plain-English summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2015 19RD (TP) Jay Flight travel trailers manufactured between May 19, 2014, and May 21, 2014. The recall addresses a defect where the roof ladder may have been installed on the door side of the trailer. This incorrect location lacks a reinforcing backer to securely hold the ladder to the trailer structure.

If the ladder is used without the support of the backer, the screws can pull out of the trailer wall. This may cause the ladder to give way, increasing the risk of injury to the person using the ladder.

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the placement of the ladder and install a backer if the ladder is installed on the wrong side, free of charge. The recall began on September 30, 2014. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
