Terex Recalls Aerial Devices Due to Oil Leak Fire Risk
Terex is recalling 2009-2013 aerial devices mounted on Ford Super Duty chassis because oil may leak onto the exhaust, increasing fire risk.

Terex South Dakota, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 LT38, LT40, LTM40, NT29, TL37, HR40, L13i, and TPL40 aerial devices. These vehicles were manufactured on 2009-2013 Ford F-350, F-450, or F-550 Super Duty chassis with a 6.8L engine and are equipped with certain Muncie Power Products PTO Assemblies.
In the affected vehicles, oil may leak from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket covering the exhaust. The leaking oil may soak into the thermal blanket, which, when combined with heat from the exhaust, may result in an increased risk of fire.
Terex will notify owners, and dealers will install a new pressure switch kit that moves the switch away from the exhaust system, free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2014. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
