Plain-English summary
Westward Industries is recalling certain model year 2013 Go-4 vehicles manufactured between June 2013 and December 2013. The recall affects 80 vehicles equipped with 20V front calipers.
The defect involves a gap between the front brake caliper and the non-vented brake rotor. As the front brake pads wear down, they may be ejected from the caliper. This ejection can result in a reduction of braking performance, which lengthens the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increases the risk of a crash.
Westward will notify owners, and dealers will replace the thin non-vented rotors with thicker vented rotors to reduce the gap between the caliper and rotor at no charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Westward customer service at 1-204-594-4100 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
