Plain-English summary
Roush CleanTech, LLC is recalling certain propane fuel system conversion kits manufactured between January 2011 and August 2012. These kits were sold as original and replacement equipment for installation on Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, and E-450 models, including Wagons, Cargo Vans, Extended Cargo Vans, and Cutaway models.
The recall is due to a reaction between different metals in the kits. Specifically, the aluminum fuel line fitting may develop a propane leak where it contacts the brass supply valve housing. A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Roush will notify owners, and authorized service network locations will replace the aluminum fitting with a stainless steel fitting free of charge. The recall began on August 5, 2014. Owners may contact Roush customer service at 1-800-597-6874 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
