Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Freightliner Cascadia trucks manufactured between December 11, 2012, and November 27, 2013. These vehicles are equipped with a Meritor Wabco electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) system. The recall involves 379 affected vehicles.
The defect involves wiring harnesses for the ECAS system that may have been installed in reverse. If the wiring is connected incorrectly, the system may adjust the suspension axle height improperly. This error can reduce driving traction and diminish the effectiveness of the parking brake, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
