The defect is caused by a design change in the power awning motor assembly, which may result in the motor assembly screws shearing without warning. If the screws shear, the awning can unfurl unexpectedly while the vehicle is at rest or in transit. This increases the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Owners are instructed not to drive their vehicles until repairs can be performed. HL Enterprise Inc. will notify owners, and Dometic staff will replace the affected motors with a different design.
