Plain-English summary
Keystone RV Company is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 recreational trailers equipped with Dometic 9100 Power Awnings or Weather Pro awnings. The affected awnings have serial numbers 306xxxx through 314xxxx and were manufactured between February 13, 2013, and April 9, 2013. The recall covers 6,561 units across multiple Keystone models, including the Raptor, Summerland, Residence, Springdale, Bullet, Avalanche, Alpine, Sydney, Passport, Montana, Montana Mountaineer, Montana High Country, Laredo, Energy, Cougar High Country, Cougar, Hideout, and Outback.
If the awning installation sequence was not completely followed, the awning motor may become damaged. A damaged motor may lead to the awning unfurling unexpectedly, either in transit or while parked. This unexpected movement may increase the risk of personal injury or a crash.
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the awning motor free of charge. The recall began on May 7, 2013. Owners may contact Keystone at 1-866-425-4369 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
