The primary and secondary air brake lines may have been crossed at the brake treadle valve. This incorrect installation fails to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121, "Air Brake Systems." In the event of a brake system problem, this defect could result in a reduction or complete loss of brake action, increasing the risk of a crash.
