Hispec Wheel and Tire, Inc. is recalling certain 16-inch split spoke aluminum trailer wheels with 6 or 8 lugs. The recall involves a defect where a crack can develop in the spoke of the wheel. If the wheel is not removed from service, this crack can lead to additional cracks and potential failure.
If the crack progresses to complete failure, the entire wheel and tire can separate from the trailer, which may result in a crash. Hispec is working with distributors and vehicle manufacturers to identify and notify owners of the recall campaign.
